Almost time for Kick Off!

I cant actually believe where the "Off Season" has gone. It only seemed like i was doing the last event at Broadway and getting ready to jet off to the sun... That now seems like a somewhat distant memory!

Lots of change here at GH Eventing, with new members of staff, new horses and owners and some fantastic backing from new sponsors. The winter months have been busy with all of the horses having plenty of BSJA outings, which they have loved as much as me. 'Getting the bling out' has been a highlight, not to mention the Cheesy Chips! The horses have all paid their way winning plenty of prizes and red rosettes. Many of them notching up their double clears and qualifications for second rounds.
I
feel very lucky to have Addington Manor not too far away, meaning i can make the most of their brilliant facilities.

Also filling the weekends with arena eventing, not quite the same but its great for the young horses to get out and about and even the older ones too for a bit of dressage practice. They have all been schooling brilliantly and pulled it off in within the white boards at venues such as Weston Lawns and Aston le walls.
With Echo P notching up a win and Silver Lining, Cruise On Inny and About Time Too all getting very respectable placings and smart dressage scores.

The new horses Silver Lining, One Misty Morning and Trendy Captain Clover are all lovely and I am very excited about competing them this season and reaching their potential. All only 6 year olds with their futures ahead of them so it's very exciting!!
So far i have the first 4 lot of entries at different events in, with Aston Le walls being the first. Competing their all 3 days with the lower level horses, then heading to Oasby with the Intermediate and Novice. horses.

I have lots of plans and goals for the season, and parts of it I'm sure will be rather intense but i feel very lucky to have a great team behind me. Welcoming a couple of new faces to the team- luckily Ellen Goodwin enjoyed the madness of last season and is happy to stay on which is brilliant! The horses love her and she is a very important part to the team.
Along with my amazing family, particularly Mum and Dad who give me all the support I need and are always there for me.

Non stop now with more XC training and plenty of BSJA ensuring all the horses are totally ready for the real thing. They are definitely feeling well and are desperate to get out! No doubt the first event of the season no matter how much preparation goes in, will include somewhat spritely dressage tests and I'm sure im not alone in saying...

" Neck Straps At the Ready!!"
