After a busy February, producing the young horses on a daily basis and with the competition horses back in work, it was then all focus on up-and-coming BS shows and the first event of the season! The typical English weather played havoc with turn out but we're no fair-weather riders at GHE and the horses continued their preparations. 

CHF Captain Jacob, in amongst his dressage lessons, also popped out for some show jumping. He jumped some great rounds in the newcomers and made an easy step up to jump his first foxhunter. As did Spot On Time, consistently jumping at newcomers with ease, she made nothing of her first foxhunter! 

Britannia's Royal Blue came back to me after his winter holiday and hacking. He very much enjoyed his first BS show, placing in both classes and loving his temporary life show jumping before he makes his eventing debut for 2024. 

The young horses have been progressing really well, with the enormous help from Claude Weller. She is just brilliant with the young ones and is doing a fantastic job in making sure the babies have the best introduction and are full of confidence in their ridden work. 

Double Time, my 5-year-old homebred, is feeling on great form and has enjoyed a number of combined training shows and arena hires. He will contest his first event in the coming months. 

At the back end of last year Time Walker FW, a 4-year-old, was backed and ridden away. He has been lightly playing for the last few months, being given plenty of time to mature and grow. He’s much taller than his brother, Double Time. 

We had a great outing to Tweseldown a few weeks ago, for some XC training, with CHF Captain Jacob, Britannia’s Royal Blue and Invictus. It was good to get out on grass, all be it a little wet and muddy! 

I have been continuing with plenty of winter training and coaching my clients with big ambitions and goals. It's an absolute pleasure and makes me very proud seeing how everyone progresses in their riding and knowledge. It even took me overseas once more to somewhere a lot less wet and miserable and nothing but bright sunshine. Back to Barbados I went, in between my own training. It was fantastic to be back in this amazing country training wonderful clients ahead of their FEI show jumping show. All preparations went very well and the hard work from the riders rewarded with them both coming away with a win! 

Starting the season

CHF Captain Jacob, had his first Eventing outing, which he absolutely loved!! The work he has been doing over the last 3 months certainly showed. Still only 7yo, he is ever maturing and feeling stronger and stronger. Finding the once harder movements tricky he has progressed in his education and feels much more established. A lovely test of 31, and a copy book double clear to finish 4th. Absolutely delighted with his first run and even more excited for what’s to come. He will have another novice run and then make the step up to intermediate, to which he is feeling very much ready for.  

The other horses will continue with their training, both Dressage, show jumping and XC schooling and will make their debuts in April. It's really exciting setting goals and discussing plans with my wonderful owners, now all we need to do is hope it stops raining and eventing can get into full swing! 

I have a number of horses currently for sale, as I sadly just cant keep them all. They are being slowly produced with their futures in mind. Either eventing or show jumping.
