July began with a great 3* outing at Aston Le Walls for Primitive Funtime. I was delighted with how hard Baz tried in the dressage - he was rideable, soft and with me most of the way. The judges sadly didn’t agree, well one did, and one didn’t! I am loving getting to know him, with lots more to come as the partnership develops.

This was a great first 3* outing for us as a combination! He was a super star show jumping, despite two unlucky rails (that I’m sure the wind blew!). He’s never found this phase easy, so this performance felt like a clear and that there will be many to come!

He was a total machine cross country, making it feel super easy and securing a clear jumping, adding just some time! I am feeling super excited about what is to come from this 8yo. It was lovely having his owners, Ros, Laura and John Hayward, there to watch over the two days. Thanks to Aston Le Walls for the most amazing ground and great courses.
