Ascott under Wychwood

Lovely day competing at Ascott under Wychwood BE100 with 2 very exciting horses.

CHF Captain Jacob, 5yo had a very educational 2nd ever event and step up to BE100. A strong course with plenty of atmosphere for a young horse but he will have come away learning lots. A sweet test of 33, a rather green SJ, finding plenty to look at outside the arena, with tents and spectators so close, this was something he hasn't seen but will certainly be wiser for it next time.

A challenging XC for a baby with plenty of questions all round the course. Rather green at start and caught out when the cross flags blew down on the fence next to fence 2, on our approach resulting in a spook and a 20 penalties, which was a real shame. Continuing to grow in confidence all the way round and making nothing of the accuracy questions. So excited for his future.

Crossmolina Cruise, 7yo was not quite as settled as her previous test but some great canter work. As she becomes more relaxed she will be capable of a very smart test. Scoring 34. A super clear SJ, showing her additional mielage and loving to show off to the crowd. A speedy and bold XC Clear for her. Making nothing of the track and will soon step up to Novice.

Thank you to the Ascott team for a very educational 3 phases with plenty of atmosphere, beautiful courses and friendly atmosphere!
