“I have been based with Ginny for the past four years, after being introduced to her through a mutual friend when I was looking for a yard closer to Oxford while studying at Oxford Brookes University. From the very beginning, her support has played a significant role in my journey as a rider in England.
Ginny has a very empathetic and encouraging way of coaching. She is incredibly patient and has a real talent for problem-solving both horse and rider combinations. Whether it’s a technical issue or a confidence wobble, she approaches every challenge calmly and thoughtfully, always working through things in a way that feels constructive and achievable.
What I value most is her ability to build confidence. She creates a positive, supportive environment where you feel motivated rather than pressured, which has been instrumental in my development over the years. The peaceful and tranquil atmosphere of the yard also means the horses are genuinely happy and relaxed, which makes a huge difference to their way of going and overall wellbeing.
Ginny has coached me through the majority of my time in England, including supporting me in qualifying for the Central American and Caribbean Games. She travelled with me to the Dominican Republic as my coach and was a huge part of me achieving an individual 4th place finish. Having her there was invaluable.
I would highly recommend Ginny to a wide range of riders, particularly those who may lack confidence or who are looking for a more empathetic, encouraging approach to coaching. Her patience, positivity, and ability to work through problems make her a fantastic trainer to have in your corner.”

I first contacted Ginny out of the blue 5 years ago when I was suffering a crisis of confidence in my riding after a fall resulted in a broken ankle. In those 5 years, I have gone from having fortnightly lessons to 2 horses on full livery with Ginny at her family yard, weekly lessons with Ginny in all eventing disciplines and plenty of outings with both Ginny and the other livery clients. I am also confidently out competing again. My daughter has been taught by Ginny from the age of 10 and has gone from learning to jump with her first pony to a pony that she is now out having fun with competitively.
Ginny as a coach and instructor has endless amounts of enthusiasm and patience which I am enormously grateful for. She is honest and is happy to advise on horses, tack and any other aspect of owning a horse, which for me as an inexperienced owner is invaluable. She encourages self-belief and very much believes in the journey of the rider and horse. She always goes that extra mile - be that taking out and competing a horse for you, arranging lessons at venues to further experience or advising on selling/buying horses. And best of all, she is lots of fun!
I have had horses on livery at Ginny’s yard for the last 3 years. It genuinely is the biggest happy family - Ginny’s family, all the various yard animals and a lovely bunch of fellow livery owners make the place fun and supportive. The atmosphere on the yard is calm and relaxing and I am continually impressed at how fast new horses settle. The care of each horse in individualised to suit the horse and their owner and Ginny is on hand to give advice on all aspects of horse care and riding. There are always people to go hacking or to a show with. There are a number of livery owners who travel over 45 mins to get to the yard (myself included) and this, I think, itself is testament to Ginny and her yard.
I have had a lot of fun over the past 5 years and have learnt an awful lot about my riding and about all aspects of horsemanship. I am loving my horse journey, I now believe I can achieve my longstanding goals and am definitely on the path to achieving them, most of this is thanks to Ginny.

“What a fun 7 years I have had as an owner with Ginny and TeamGHE! Despite the inevitable downs as well as ups that come with horses and competition.
Having known Ginny through Pony Club years with my daughter, when Millie hung up her stirrups, I knew I would miss the sport I had grown to love, and so decided to venture down the owner route.
Ginny and I had some interesting road trips looking at several horses for sale, and in the end were lucky enough to find a lovely boy close to home – CHF Archie, who I owned and Ginny competed with from 2019 through until June 2023, making it all the way to 4* competition.
In June 2021, I was reckless enough to purchase another CHF horse - unseen at the Goresbridge sales - and CHF Captain Jacob AKA Arlo duly arrived at Ginny’s yard. What a sweet boy he has been and hugely giving; always trying his hardest and being so easy to handle, with a whizzy gallop to boot. He has grown from strength to strength under Ginny’s stewardship and has been a joy to own. What a moment it was when he went double clear on our very own doorstep as an 8-year-old in his first 4*S competition at Blenheim Palace in 2025.
Ginny is so good at keeping me in the picture about how Arlo is getting on. I receive plenty of updates and photos, and we plan and manage his activity seamlessly together. Along with the rest of the team who plait, bathe, hack and feed Arlo, I know he is in the safest of hands and am looking forward to the adventures that lie ahead.”

“I moved to Ginny’s yard with a problem horse who was slowly unravelling my confidence. A friend recommended Ginny, and from our very first lesson she managed to restore my love of riding while dramatically improving my horse’s way of going.
At no point was I made to feel incapable, or as though I had bitten off more than I could chew with an ex-racehorse. Instead, we took everything right back to basics and rebuilt our partnership from the ground up.
Fast forward five years, I am now a livery and have achieved more than I ever thought possible after returning to riding following a significant break. With Ginny’s tuition and encouragement, I’ve gained the confidence to hunt, team chase at Intermediate level, and event to 100.
I now have a youngster I brought over from Ireland - something I would categorically never have considered without Ginny’s support.
Finding authentic, genuine instructors in the horse world is difficult, particularly those who can truly help you achieve your goals. Ginny is one of the rare ones.”

Talented, committed, fun: these are some of the adjectives that come to mind about Ginny Howe.
We turned to Ginny when my daughter started eventing at Novice/2* level, aiming for the U18 team. Ginny was amazing. She was there at every step of this journey, solving any issue with horse and rider. She was willing to take the time and travel to events to be right there, in the start box, an invaluable help to a nervous teenager. She also helped us with our young horse Leo, ensuring he was ready and experienced before our daughter run him. She subsequently rode Leo successfully at intermediate level when our daughter was doing her A-levels.
Ginny has an amazing eye for the relationship between rider and horse and trained both to give us their best performance. Her advice was spot on, her professionalism always evident. But she also goes above and beyond by being personally committed to their success.
We would not have achieved such results without Ginny's excellent training, her dedication and positive attitude.

"I was very impressed with Ginny's professionalism. She demonstrated her ability to combine an extraordinary talent with a well-thought-out approach to running a competition yard. She successfully brought Angellus (Sharky) on - I was delighted with the progress he made.
Working with Ginny is a real pleasure. She kept us informed with Sharky’s progress week by week and let us know his competition results on the day (when we couldn’t be there). We really enjoyed our regular text updates too.”
