2025 is well and truly in full swing!

January has been and gone, and the countdown to the start of the eventing season is on! We’ve had a great month with the event horses coming back into work and some great showjumping results for the younger horses.

Young stallion, Chanuck Z, has excelled at what he was bred for, making easy work of his newcomers and will soon step up to Foxhunter. Outside ride, Martins Irish Eddie, has also been on super form, jumping double clear in every one of the classes he’s entered.

What’s new?

Other than the horses all turning a year older, with some exciting times ahead, I have a couple of new rides that will be revealed in the coming weeks, and it will be exciting to have another young intermediate/3* horse in the string. An exciting Novice horse that I’m sure will make the step up to this level in no time.

On the coaching side of things, it’s been wonderful to see my clients progress after every session, and many of them have formed new partnerships. The excitement is certainly building as they begin their eventing journeys. Together, we have mapped out the season and goals for the months ahead. It’s so special and rewarding to help each and every rider improve to achieve these.

Many of my long-standing riders have already achieved so much at their respective levels, so now is the time to push that little bit more. I love coaching riders of all ages, levels, and abilities, from 12yo upwards, BE80 up to 4*. Each one has their own journey and ambition, and it’s wonderful to help them achieve these.

What’s next?

Plenty more fitness, strength and conditioning work ahead, along with dressage training, show jumping outings, cross country schooling and getting to know the new rides ahead of their first events.

I too shall be focusing on my fitness and strengthening work to make sure I’m ready for kick off and in peak condition. I shall also be running a number of clinics to help my riders, and new ones, get ready for the season in every discipline.
