CAVORT “Larry”

My dearest darling Larry, you gave us so much joy in our lives, the nibbling, biting,  you hated having your rugs put on and we all have mementoes of your teeth marks somewhere on our bodies from this, but your  quirky charismatic nature brought us so much laughter, you had a huge heart and gave 100% in everything you did, even the biting!

You came into my life with stacks of character, with that air of

“do you not know who I am?”  you stood you out a mile and so rightfully took over as ‘Boss of the Yard’, your presence was felt not just when ridden but by those who met you.

With all that charm however did bring one problem, the lack of a braking system.    Many people said me? A young girl, ride Larry? It was sheer madness,

but through guts, tears, laughter and determination we formed a deep bond,

a partnership that will never be forgotten, I owe you so much.

It was from this determination that we achieved both our dreams to go to Badminton this year, our first time and wow how you behaved and loved the attention, you were amazing.

Ok so it was tough for you to control your explosive nature during the dressage, but this time you did it (there were many times when you thought it was great fun to buck  or take off down the centre line) but at Badminton you knew this was serious stuff.

The cross country phase was awesome, you just popped over fences like a pony club hunter trials, always making sure that  I was safe, it was the best ride of my life,

we had so much fun.

The show jumping; ok not your most perfect performance but do you know what,

who cares we completed  Badminton Horse Trials!!

Our dreams had become reality and its thanks to you.

We will all miss you in our lives, but no one more that me,

we formed a partnership that will never be replaced, you taught me so much and we achieved so much together,  I adore you and even in your last moments you made sure I was safe, I thank you for that.

You will always be treasured in my fondest memories,

never forgotten, adored by all and so sorely missed.

Sleep peacefully my darling Larry.

Lots of Love Ginny and everyone who ever met you and experienced you in their lives
